Stephen Davies background is in industrial design, teaching and lecturing, and working with people with disabilities. He has an MA in Industrial Design Engineering from the Royal College of Art and a First Class BA (Hons) from Sheffield Hallam University. Also, he has a PGCE (Post Compulsory Education) from the University of Brighton. He was elected a Fellow of the RSA in 2008.

As an industrial designer his work has featured on television, in newspapers and magazines and in exhibitions in London (including the Design Mueseum), Dubai and Kuala Lumpur. Stephen was a finalist in the James Dyson Product Innovations Award and the Living etc Bright New Things Awards.

He has lectured and taught at the University for the Arts, University of Brighton and the London Metropolitan University.

Stephen is currently working at the Helen Hamlyn Centre as a Senior Associate on the work package 'Challenging Environmental Barriers to Successful Continence Management for Older People', on the collaborative research project Tackling Ageing Continence through Theory Tools and Technology (TACT3).
