Chris started at the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design as a Research Associate, working on a range of user-focused projects for a several industry clients.,These projects included medication packaging addressing compliance issues for GlaxoSmithKline; cooker design with a focus on the elderly for Osaka Gas, Japan; and domestic lighting design for people with low vision, for the Thomas Pocklington Trust.
Chris then went on to undertake a EPSRC funded PhD titled 'Supporting People-Centred Design Through Information and Empathy' at Brunel University where he was a founding member of the Inclusive Design Research Group and tutor on the 'design process' module.
Returning to the HHCD in 2011 as a Senior Associate, Chris is playing a lead role in the newly formed Age and Ability research lab.
