Dan specialises in design for sustainable behaviour – understanding and influencing our use of products and services for social and environmental benefit. At the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design, Dan is working on SusLabNWE, a European project integrating people-centred design with domestic energy and behaviour sensing. Dan was previously a research fellow at WMG, University of Warwick, and a research assistant at Brunel University, on Empower, a TSB project on reducing workplace CO2 emissions through the CarbonCulture digital engagement platform. For his PhD at Brunel, he developed Design with Intent, a multidisciplinary toolkit for designers working on behaviour change. Dan also has an MPhil in Technology Policy from the University of Cambridge and a BSc(Hons) in Industrial Design Engineering from Brunel.
