Margaret Durkan

Margaret Durkan is Communication and Events Manager of the Helen Hamlyn Research Centre. She spent many years producing ceramics and running a studio pottery before studying Furniture and Product Design at Kingston University.

After gaining a BA(Hons) in furniture and product design, she worked for the Design Council and an architecture and interior design consultancy before joining the RCA in 1997. During this period, she completed a research MA in Design Studies at Central St Martins, writing a thesis on organic design.

As Communication and Events Manager she has a very broad range of responsibilities that include design and production of all of the Centre's publications.
