Inclusive Design Special Collection

The Inclusive Design Special Collection contains over 1500 items.

It has been compiled from many sources since 1991, and includes everything produced by the Helen Hamlyn Research Centre and its precursor, DesignAge.

The items in the collection vary in scope and size from single page case studies of particular designs to book length texts covering the whole discipline of inclusive design. There are also monographs, focussing on one subject area, seminar papers and anthologies of conference speeches and presentations.

A significant proportion of the material is unique or not widely distributed, and many items are unavailable in any other library or collection.

The collection can be visited by appointment only as our staff resources are limited. We encourage people to search the online database first, and attempt to locate material through their own libraries. We also encourage design college and university libraries to stock Helen Hamlyn Research Centre publications, as they represent a good digest of the material in the collection.
