Jamie Cobb / Design Products
auto injector
1st prize in the health category

People suffering from anaphylaxis are prescribed two syringes to be carried at all times. The existing design was developed for military applications but its size and violent firing mechanism deters many individuals. This redesign of the syringe makes it smaller, easier to use, less invasive and could potentially save many more lives.

Judges' comment: 'A complete piece of product design, thoroughly researched and broad in approach. Addressed unresolved practical problems.'
