assistive adornments

A jewellery collection based on research at Guy's Hospital that combines aesthetic appeal with medical function, enabling the user to wear assistive products without any social stigma attached. Among the ideas: distance sensor pieces pulse to indicate the wearer's surroundings; pods hold pills for emergency use and cuff links glow to indicate temperature.

Judges' comments: 'A range of desirable jewellery that identifies and addresses the needs of people who have to take medication on the move, but do not necessarily want to advertise their condition.'
