The Royal College of Art: Postgraduate Art and Design

Queen's Anniversary Prize

In 1994, The Royal College of Art was awarded a prestigious 'Queen's Anniversary Prize" for Higher and Further Education in recognition of the innovative work of DesignAge.

The award citation read:
"This is an imaginative and extremely valuable contribution to the design questions arising from ageing populations. It has practical relevance to industry and commerce as well as involving all faculties and students. It is an international exemplar."

The award was announced at St James's Palace in November 1994 and presented at Buckingham Palace in February 1995. In all, 21 universities and colleges were awarded a Queen's Anniversary Prize, the Royal College of Art being the only Art and Design institution to be so honoured.
