Scientific Committee Awards

Three awards were presented at the conference by Professor Alastair Macdonald, Chair of the Scientific Committee.

 

2003 home

   

The first was to Dr Satoshi Kose, 'in appreciation and recognition of his personal dedication and significant achievements in promoting the adoption of inclusive design in Japan by both industry and public sector'.
 

The second went to Elaine Ostroff, 'in appreciation of her leadership, personal dedication and groundbreaking work in developing and promoting the concept of universal designing in the USA and beyond'. The certificate was accepted by Earl Powell, president of the Design Management Instititute.
 

The final award was presented to B&Q, the UK's largest home improvement retailer, 'in appreciation and recognition of it's pioneering work in embedding diversity awareness at the highest level of corporate strategy and in developing a truly inclusive consumer offer'. The award was accepted by David Roth, Marketing Director.
