About the Include Network
With the success of our biennial Include conferences and the growth of the Helen Hamlyn Research Centre, the Royal College of Art now has a focus on inclusive design and both a reason and a mechanism to launch an international network, superseding the Design for Ageing Network (DAN).
As a first step, all former DAN members and Include 2001/3 conference delegates have been offered membership of the Include Network and inclusion in its on-line database. The database features contact details, short profiles and links to members' websites.
Other researchers, designers and business managers actively working in inclusive design are also invited to join the Network. There is no charge for membership, and for a limited period a free copy of the Include 2003 DVD will be sent to all new members.
Membership of the Include Network gives:
- International profile
- Knowledge of who else is active in inclusive design, their interests and specialisations
- Delegate contact between Include conferences
- Advance notice of Include conferences and publications
- An electronic newsletter may be added in 2004, subject to individual members taking responsibility for contributing articles etc.
"We hope the Include Network will grow to further our mutual goal of making inclusive design a reality, and that we will see you at the next Include conference, to be held at the Royal College of Art in Spring 2007."
- Roger Coleman, Professor of Inclusive Design, Royal College of Art, London
