design for our future selves

The Centre's programmes are tailored to the needs of three design communities:

Students

How can design students be encouraged to explore social challenges and issues in their projects and test their ideas with users?

Design for our Future Selves programme for graduating RCA students offers annual awards scheme plus associated thinktanks, seminars, workshops and user forums.

New graduates

How can new RCA design graduates be given direct experience of working with industry on research and development projects that address social change and inclusion?

Helen Hamlyn Research Associates Programme enables new RCA graduates to undertake one-year industry-funded projects within the RCA studios.

Professionals

How can design consultants, corporate designers and innovation managers learn about inclusive design strategies as a way to meet business goals?

Inclusive Business RCA promotes better design and innovation in products and services that include the needs of disabled people, via strategic partnerships, workshops, events, publications and the Inclusive Design Challenge for members of the Design Business Association.

Include Programme an international network and a series of biennial conferences which aim to develop the theory and practice of inclusive design, and to support people working to make inclusive design a reality.

i-design provides design guidance on inclusive design methodologies for the design community and industry.
