The goals of this work are:

  • To provide industrial decision makers, and those involved in commissioning and managing design, with mechanisms to understand the significance of age and capability-related factors.
  • To provide the design community with the guidance required at all stages of the research and development process to deliver more effective products and services for people of all ages and abilities.
  • To foster a new generation of inclusive designers and equip them with the necessary skills and experience.
  • To build a practicing inclusive design community of researchers, educators, design students and professionals, with strong links to industry.
